大约只有女声和纯乐器的《圣母颂》版本，才合我的心意，更似这圣诞夜的心情。虽然帕瓦罗蒂和波切利都有过很优秀的男声演绎版本，莎拉布莱曼也有非常动人心魄的演绎，不过在这样特殊的夜晚，她应该是属于那种特别纤柔伤感的声音，无需过多技巧的修饰，如烟雾般飘渺，如空气般透明，虔诚——从心底发出的呼唤，穿透遥远时空的距离，能够到达心灵的彼岸。

　　舒伯特《聖母頌》

　　『歌曲之王』舒伯特的這首《聖母頌》作於1825年，作者當時28歲。當年演出時，是由他的好友，名歌唱家Johann Michael Voge演唱，並由作者本人親自為這曲伴奏。

　　本作是維也納少年合唱團的成名曲之一，迪士尼經典動畫《幻想曲》的主題配樂，也是《金色琴弦》最終話，女主角日野香穗子所拉的曲子，據說還是韓國偶像劇《天國的階梯》裡，從頭至尾伴隨著主人翁車誠俊的主題曲。

　　這首膾炙人口的名曲，原詩是蘇格蘭大文豪華特‧史考特（Walter Scott）的著名長詩《湖上美人》（Lady Of The Lake）中的一段，內容是在戰火瀰漫的黃昏，士官羅德利在野外散步，無意聽到了動人的歌聲，原來是達格拉斯的公主愛蓮（Ellen），和著老臣貝恩的豎琴，在向聖母禱告的聲音。

　　這是首少女為了代父贖罪，向瑪利亞祈禱的歌曲，舒伯特將這首歌稱為《愛蓮的第三首歌》（德：Ellens dritter Gesang；英：Ellen's third song）。

　　第一節的歌詞語譯如下：「仁慈的聖母瑪莉亞啊，請妳伸展仁慈的聖手，撫慰我心中的悲苦。請妳那溫暖的慈光永照我身上，將我前途照亮。如果沒有妳慈祥的光芒，我心就會悲愴痛苦。啊！我偉大慈愛的聖母啊，請妳傾聽我虔誠的呼喚。」

　　對於這首名曲，作者本人是這麼說的：「人們對於我在這首曲子～Ave Maria祈願之歌中所表現的虔誠之念，非常驚奇，這實在能給人留下深刻的印象，引發人們的注意，其理由在於何處？據我想來，大概是因為我在感情中，全心傾瀉了真實的虔誠吧。」

　　事實上，這部作品原本只是歌曲，而不是聖樂。但因為原詩中有部分內容，與《聖母頌》的拉丁經文頗為神似，再加上虔誠的曲調中，充滿聖潔祥和的氣息，於是當時許多人認為這首深受歡迎的曲子，是針對《聖母頌》的禱文所寫的。

　　爾後不知何時，有某人用這首曲子的音樂填上了《聖母頌》的經文，並將它廣為流傳。久而久之《愛蓮的第三首歌》和《聖母頌》就在人們的穿鑿附會下被合而為一，成為今日廣為流傳的曠世名曲～舒伯特的《聖母頌》了。（文／幽影）

巴哈∕古諾《聖母頌》

　　法國作曲家古諾（Charles Gounod）的《聖母頌》作於1855年，本曲是以巴哈《十二平均律曲集》第一卷的C大調第一號前奏曲（BWV-846）的分解和弦作為伴奏，再自行配上旋律和歌詞的清新讚歌，是宗教音樂當中的著名傑作。

　　由於這首音域寬廣的女高音聖樂，使用了巴哈的作品當伴奏的緣故，因此本作最早是用《巴哈第一號前奏曲之冥想曲》這個名字來發表的。《聖母在上》（或譯作《瑪莉亞的凝望》）動畫當中，正是用了這首古諾《聖母頌》作為配樂。

　　雖然古諾也寫過不少歌劇，但他最為世人所知的作品，還是這首小品聖樂。他用巴哈音樂的古典風格作為背景，大膽的加上了如泣如訴的主旋律，並配上了《聖母頌》的經文作為歌詞，不但旋律優美，意境崇高，而且主旋律、伴奏與合聲都搭配的天衣無縫，充滿了宗教美感，被後人公認為音樂家跨越時間差距合作的經典之作。（文／幽影）
